Types of Cadets in NUMS

NUMS Cadets
- All Pakistani National Can Apply (Male+ Female)
- BDS in Army Medical College and NUMS Affiliated Medical Colleges
- MBBS in NUMS All Affiliated Medical Colleges
- Passing MDCAT for NUMS is mandatory.
- The pass percentage for MDCAT for NUMS is 55% for admission in MBBS Program and 50% for BDS Program.
- Eligibility: Minimum 60% marks in FSC (Pre-Medical) or equivalent, having at least twelve years of education in at least three subjects: Biology, Chemistry, and either Physics or Mathematics.
- Result Awaiting Students can apply on the Basis of FSc Part 1 Marks
Weightage Formula for NUMS
- MDCAT for NUMS: 50%
- HSSC/FSC (Pre-Medical)/Equivalent: 40%
- SSC/Matric/Equivalent: 10%
NUMS Cadets can Join Army after Completion of MBBS / BDS through GDMO Course
Medical Cadets
They are specially trained to serve in the medical services of the Armed Forces, and therefore they have to be selected and trained to suit the specific requirements of the Armed Forces through General Headquarter GHQ Rawalpindi.
The selection criteria for this category include:
- Only Boys Can apply
- Age: 17 to 21 years
- Height: Minimum 5 feet 4 Inches
- Fsc Marks 70% or Above (Result Awaiting can also Apply on Basis of FSc Part 1 Marks)
- Step 1: Candidates will appear at Army Selection Center For Initial Written Test
- Further Selection: Medical Examination , Physical Exam , Personality Test , Interviews will be Held
- Successfull Candidates will Get Admission in AMC Rawalpindi or 6 Other CMH Medical Colleges
- MDCAT For NUMS is Mandatory for Medical Cadets.

- Candidates applying as Paying Cadets to W&R Dte, GHQ, must apply on Open Merit through online application portal for
admissions in NUMS Affiliated & Armed Forces Administered Medical & Dental Colleges available on NUMS Website. - The pass percentage for MDCAT for NUMS is 55% for admission in MBBS Program and 45% for BDS Program.

Paying Cadets can Join Army after Completion of MBBS / BDS through GDMO Course
Introduction
In order to join Pakistan Army as a doctor, you must appear in NUMS MDCAT Entry Test which is conducted by National University of Medical Sciences. NUMS is Situated in Rawalpindi. NUMS Conducts two test , One for MBBS /BDS and 2nd For Allied Health Sciences. If you want to be Doctor you will have to appear in nums mbbs MDCAT test , while for BS allied Health Sciences Admissions you will appear in NUMS Allied Test.

Who can Apply for Paying Cadets?
Paying Cadets are Special Category of Cadets in army medical college and other cmh private medical colleges which is reserved for only Army , Navy , PAF and Civ. Defence Forces families. Civilian Families students can not apply as Paying Cadets.
Difference Between NUMS Cadets and Paying Cadets:
NUMS Cadets are those who got admission in AMC on the basis of NUMS Entry Test . They are civilians and army families students can also take admission as NUMS cadets.
- Fee for NUMS Cadets in AMC is 10 Lac Per Year , but Fee of Paying Cadets is almost Half of the NUMS Cadets.(Details given in PC Form)
- NUMS Cadets are civilians in Army Medical Colleges and they don’t get Commission Officer rank upon completion of MBBS / BDS degree , while PC get Captain Rank on Completion of Degree .
